Wineries and Breweries

Ohio has a wonderful variety of wineries, vineyards, and breweries. Find out more about the wines and beers produced at these sites as well as tastings and special events there.
Northeast Ohio Breweries
Cleveland's history of beer-making is almost as old as the city itself. In 1910, Cleveland boasted 26 brewing companies, with names like Forest City, Pilsener, and Cleveland Home Brewing Company. Chalet Debonne
Lake Erie Wines are noted for their lush, fruit flavor profiles. The region's icewines are particularly note-worthy. Among the many wine growers in Ohio's Lake and Ashtabula Counties, east of Cleveland, is Chalet Debonne, Ohio's largest estate-bottled winery.
Gifts for Ohio Wine Lovers
Ohio has a long and rich wine history. If you're looking for a gift for that wine lover on your list, consider a bottle of Ohio wine, an Ohio wine book, or other wine accessory.
Northfield Park Brewery
The Northfield Park Microbrewery, the only race track brewery in the world, opened in 1998. The facility makes four beers -- Crimson Colt Ale, Silk Cream Ale, 40-1 Stout, and Winner's Wheat Lager -- plus a variety of seasonal offerings.
Cleveland Wine School
The Cleveland Wine School, founded in 2002 by Cleveland wine maven Marianne Frantz, offers classes for wine lovers and restaurant and hotel professionals. Classes cover wine regions, tasting profiles, and food and wine pairings. The school also hosts periodic trips to wine regions in Italy, California, and France -- complete with one-of-a-kind dinners and tours.
Ohio's Lake Erie Wineries
Crisp and complex, light and flavorful, Ohio’s Lake Erie wines captivate residents and visitors alike. Protected from the harshest weather by the lake’s summer breezes and insulating winter warmth, the narrow strip known as the Northeast Ohio “Wine and Vine” Trail produces excellent cool weather wines, including award-winning Icewines. Learn more about these exciting wineries.
Great Lakes Brewing Company
The Great Lakes Brewery, located just west of downtown in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood, is Ohio's first microbrewery. Established in 1988, the historic six-building complex now includes a brewery, a brew pub, banquet facilities, and a gift shop.
