Sauder Village is a living-history village an hour west of Toledo in Archbold, Ohio. This family destination provides a re-creation of life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in northwest Ohio. Visitors have the opportunity to experience the historic village, working craftsmen, homemade food and baked goods, shops, events, classes, children’s activities and on-site lodging.

At the age of 30, local farmer Erie Sauder created the Sauder Woodworking Company in 1934 in Archbold, Ohio, a company that has become a top company in ready-to-assemble furniture. Sauder’s ancestors were some of the men and women who settled the Great Black Swamp area in northwest Ohio in the 1830s; stories that Erie Sauder was very fond of hearing and keeping alive.

In the 1970s, Erie Sauder had a number of hand-crafted buildings throughout northwest Ohio re-located to create Sauder Village. The Village today is directed by the 3rd generation Sauder family.
