Fort Meigs Monument and Museum
Fort Meigs is a War of 1812 battlefield located in the Toledo suburb of Perrysburg. This Toledo area attraction offers seasonal self-guided and private tours of the fort, a year-round museum, visitor’s center and gift shop, and special events throughout the year. Fort Meigs is not only a learning destination for area residents, but enjoyable for anyone interested in period artifacts and US history.
Glass Pavilion at the Toledo Museum of Art
The Toledo Museum of Art's Glass Pavilion, designed by the Japanese architectural team of Ryue Nishizawa and Kazuyo Sejima, opened in August of 2006. All of the modern structure's exterior walls are made of glass and most of the interior ones are as well. The Pavilion houses the museum's diverse art glass collection as well as studios, a glass-blowing workshop, and a theater.
Toledo Museum of Art
The Toledo Museum of Art, founded in 1901, is just two hours down the Ohio Turnpike from Cleveland. The museum houses a diverse collection of art with special emphasis on 19th and 20th century European and American paintings.
Toledo Zoo
The Toledo Zoo, with more than 5,300 animals representing over 760 species, is consistently considered one of the top zoological institutions in the country. Encompassing the area between the Anthony Wayne Trail and Broadway, The Toledo Zoo is located just 4 miles from downtown Toledo.
