Boston Mills ArtFest

The Boston Mills ArtFest, begun in 1972, is one of the top fine art and crafts shows in the United States. Held over two weekends each summer at the Boston Mills Ski Resort in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the juried show features 160 artists for each weekend, representing a variety of media. The 2009 dates are June 27-28 and July 3-5.

The Art:

Each of the two weekend shows features 160 artists. Artists are accepted in the following categories: traditional acrylic/oil, conceptual acrylic/oil, watercolor, jewelry, wood, graphics/drawing, multiple images, glass, whimsical, sculpture, ceramics, wearable art, furniture, metal, decorative fibers, and mixed media.

Other Activities:

In addition to the art for display and for sale, the Boston Mills ArtFest features food, live music and other entertainment, demonstrations, and an "Art and Play" tent where kids can created their own art projects.

Hours and Admission:

The Boston Mills ArtFest is open both weekends (June 27-28 and July 3 - 5, 2009) on Friday and Saturday from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

2008 Admission was $7.50 for adults, $6 for those 60 and older or between 13 and 21 years old, and free for children 12 and under. Ample free parking is available adjacent to the resort.

Preview Nights:

Each weekend, on Thursday night, there is a preview event, where adults may view and purchase art while sampling wine and hors d'oeuvres. Reservations for the preview nights must be made at least two days in advance. Tickets were $35 per person in 2008.
