Moondog Coronation Ball -- Past and Present
The first Moondog Coronation Ball, held on March 21, 1952, was America's first rock concert. The event, conceived and promoted by DJ Alan Freed, was a bit of a disaster, with over 20,000 fans trying to squeeze into a 10,000-seat venue. However, the concept survived and today Cleveland remembers the Moondog with a new Moondog Coronation Ball and concert each March.

Things to do on St Patrick's Day
In Cleveland, everyone is Irish -- at least for St Patrick's Day. The Cleveland St Patrick's Day parade, begun in 1867, is the oldest in the state and one of the oldest in the country. What's more, there's plenty of green beer, corned beef, shamrocks, and fun to last from dawn to well past dusk.
