Pickwick and Frolic is unique among Cleveland area restaurants and nightspots in that it offers four distinct entertainment venues, all under one roof. In addition to the well-regarded restaurant, Pickwick, located in the heart of downtown, is home to Hilarities Comedy Club, a cabaret theater, and the intimate Kevin's Martini Bar.

History of the Club:

Opened in September of 2002, Pickwick and Frolic sits on the site of the former 19th century, Cleveland Opera House. The 27,000-square foot entertainment complex gets its name from the humorous Charles Dicken's serial, The Pickwick Papers combined with "Frolic" to characterize the fun and whimsy of downtown Cleveland entertainment over the last century.

Pickwick and Frolic Restaurant:

The 185-seat Pickwick and Frolic Restaurant serves what they call "American Rustic" cuisine. That includes some comfort foods, like a soul-warming meatloaf and a chicken pot pie, similar to grandma's. The specialty of the house is the wood-fired spit-roasted prime rib. Side dishes include hand-cut french fries, chive mash potatoes, and fresh steamed vegetables. The menu also includes several vegetarian entrees.

Hilarities 4th Street Theater:

Hilarities 4th Street Theater has been called by USA Today one of the top ten comedy clubs in the country. The 425-seat two-tiered club is certainly an entertainer-friendly venue and draws top comedians from around the world. Jerry Seinfeld, Rita Rudner, Sinbad, and Tim Allen have all performed there. The club has been featured on Showtime's Comedy Club Network and on HBO comedy specials.

The Frolic Cabaret:

The 120-seat Frolic Cabaret offers guests a more intimate evening of dining and entertainment. The small stage hosts a variety of singing, comedy, and Vegas-style revues. Currently playing is "Divas," a salute to the women of pop music, from Diana Ross to Gwen Stefani. The midnight show is a 1960s Rat-pack style revue with sultry songs, corny comedy, and a little tap dancing.

Kevin's Martini Bar:

Kevin's Martini Bar serves the finest in wines by the glass, high-end Whiskey and Scotch, martinis of all genres, and after-dinner drinks. Called by Scene Magazine the "Best Place (in Cleveland) to have a Martini," Kevin's is a nice place to relax after the theater, a movie, or a long day at the office.
