Punderson State Park is situated on the site of a former Indian village. The 196-site campground offers showers, modern bathroom facilities, electricity, and pet camping. Punderson Resort Lodge:
One of the most striking features of Punderson State Park is the gracious Tudor-style Punderson Lodge. The 31-room lodge is open year-round. All rooms include cable TV, private bath, and a coffeemaker. Some rooms also feature a gas fireplace, refrigerator, and a walk-in closet. Golfing at Punderson State Park:
Punderson features a championship 18-hole public golf course. Facilities include a pro shop and a snack bar.
Nature at Punderson State Park:
Punderson State Park is locate east of Cleveland in Ohio's "Lake Effect" snow belt. The area was once buried in glacial snow, during the Ice Age. When the ice receded, it carved out the area's natural lakes, including Punderson Lake. Birdwatchers will marvel at the wide variety of birds to be found at Punderson, including blue herons, Canada geese, and wood ducks. Animals in the park include beavers, white-tailed deer, opossum, and raccoons.
The 150-acre Punderson Lake offers opportunities for boaters and swimmers. Electric motors only are permitted and boat rentals are available at the park's marina.
