Located just east of Toledo Ohio, Maumee Bay State Park sits on 1,850 acres at the edge of Lake Erie. The park, opened in 1975, offers year-round activities, camping, golf, and a luxurious lodge and conference center.
Summer Activities at Maumee Bay State Park:
Maumee Bay State Park offers a myriad of summer activities. Among them are fishing, swimming, and boating on Lake Erie and the park's inland lake; hiking on the park's ten miles of trails; golf (see more below); tennis; and exploring the park's nature center.
Winter visitors to the park can enjoy sledding, ice-skating, and cross-country skiing.
Maumee Bay State Park features 252 camp sites. The campground is equipped with showerhouses, flush toilets, electricity, and playground equipment. Campsites abut the natural meadows and ponds, which are open to fishing exclusively for campers. Pet are permitted.
There are also three Rent-A-Camp units consisting of a tent, dining fly, cooler, cook stove, and other equipment may be rented during the summer months. A unique Rent-A-Yurt is also available and offers a microwave, stove and regrigerator, along with futon beds. Call 866 644-6727 for reservations.
Maumee Bay Resort and Conference Center:
The Maumee Bay Resort and Conference Center, located in the heart of the park, is open year round and features 120 guest rooms, all with spacious patios and balconies. For more about the Resort, visit the property's Web site.
The park also has 24 cottages, nestled amidst the woodlands and alongside the golf course. Each cottage has a gas fireplace, heat and air conditioning, and a fully-equipped kitchen.
