Bio: Robert Latta was born in 1956 in Bluffton, Ohio. His father, Del Latta, represented Ohio's 5th District from 1959 to 1989. Latta has a Bachelors degree from Bowling Green State University and a JD from the University of Toledo. He is married with two children.
Prior to serving in Congress, Latta served as Wood County Commissioner from 1991-1997, an Ohio senator from 1997-2001, and as an Ohio state representative from 2001 to 2007. After the death in office of his predecessor, Paul Gillmore, in September of 2007, Latta ran successfully for the vacant seat.
