Her designs are classic, fresh, and meticulously-constructed. She is enthusiastic, hip, and fun. She is Stephanie Fralick, owner and principal designer for Pinky’s Daily Planner, the Cleveland-based fashion house. A little offbeat, still a little classic, Stephanie’s clothing designs give a fresh look to old standards.

Pinky's Daily Planner:

In business since 1997, Pinky’s Daily Planner specializes in unique, modern fashion for women. Stephanie defines her typical client as “a woman between 25 and 40… who makes more money than I do.” She has clients right in her building and as far away as Portland, Oregon.

The Collection:

Pinky’s Daily Planner’s Spring collection includes bandeau tops; hand-loomed, fluffy, cropped sweaters; and classic, short-skirted, hand-painted dresses. Prominently featured in the collection are “Bella” dresses: well-above-the-knee, boat-necked dresses in crisp, striped, cotton shirting material or soft, silk charmeuse. Flowers predominate in this collection; appliqués on full skirted dresses and hand-painted designs on Egyptian cotton skirts.

Who is Pinky?:

“Everyone thinks it’s me,” says Stephanie with a smile. The truth is “Pinky is kind of my idea of the perfect girl,” explains Stephanie. “She’s modern, well-dressed, and well-organized.”

The Clothes:

Stephanie studied fashion design at Kent State University for two years before venturing out on her own. Her clothes construction is flawless. Hemmed seams, double stitching, and beautiful linings give her clothes a couture look. When asked who inspires her work, Stephanie says “Rudy Gernreich. He did so much with jersey.” In fact, there is a dress named for Gernreich in Pinky’s spring collection.Pinky’s clothes are a bargain for such well-made, one-of-a-kind items. A hand-knit sweater retails for $99; a hand-painted, hand-sewn, silk dress is $500. Pinky’s best-selling item is the carnival skirt: an eight-paneled, full skirt made of dupioni silk.

Recent Exhibitions:

Pinky’s Daily Planner was recently asked to show at the Seen Gallery in Atlanta with young designers from around the country. Pinky’s designs were also be featured during Cleveland artist, Hector Vega’s recent “Art Jam” at the Tower Press Building, an event which coincided with the opening of Pinky’s new design showroom, also in the Tower Press building.

What's Next for Pinky's?:

Stephanie’s designs are being featured in Cleveland filmmaker, Robert Banks’ new fashion film. She's also partnered with other area designers to offer lingerie, pillows, and other fun items.
