Nancy Dwyer’s seating installation, “Things Change/Change Things,” bespeaks Cleveland’s past and future while evoking the individual meaning each of us associates with these phrases. Stop to enjoy a rest on a letter and consider the text as it morphs in the space between the two extruding words. What, if anything, does it mean to you? For this New York artist, the words convey a dual effect as a benign fact (Things Change) or an inspiration for action (Change Things). Through this public fixture, Dwyer addresses the past and future and individualizes the space.
