Lake Erie is known for its sportsfishing from Toledo to Buffalo, New York. The Lake is particularly abundant in walleye and yellow perch, but a variety of other fish, such as largemouth bass, northern pike, and Lake Erie catfish, can also be found.

If you don't have a boat, or if you'd rather let someone else get the gear and do the driving, consider one of the many fishing charters that operate out of Northeast Ohio. A few of these are listed below (click on the links for current contact information):

  • Chelsea Charters - Operates two boats out of Port Clinton. Offers 4, 6, or 8-hour charters for up to 8 people.

  • Hitman Sports Fishing Charters - Operates a 32' boat out of Eastlake, Ohio. Can accommodate up to six passengers.

  • Lake Erie Charters - Based in the Chagrin River at Eastlake, this company operates a 34' catamaran. Charters are for up to six people.

  • Lucky Strike Sportsfishing - based out of Ashtabula, Ohio. Operates a Rampage 28 Sportsman.

  • A-Lure Fishing Charters - Operates a 30' BAHA fisherman boat from Cleveland, Port Clinton, Astablula, Lorain/Huron, Geneva/Conneaut, and Eastlake.
