KeyBank

KeyBank, a division of KeyCorp, is America's 12th largest bank. They are headquartered in downtown Cleveland in the KeyBank Building at Public Square. The bank has 954 branches in 13 states, including 142 branches in Cleveland. They offer a full range of financial services for individuals and companies.

KeyBank can trace its roots back to one of Cleveland's first financial institutions, the Cleveland Society of Savings (later, Society Bank), founded in 1849.

National City Bank

National City Bank, headquartered in downtown Cleveland at East Ninth and Euclid Avenue, is Cleveland's oldest bank and the ninth largest in the United States. Founded in 1845 as The City Bank of Cleveland, National City Bank is credited with, among other things, writing the first mortgage in the United States.

Today, National City Bank is licensed in nine states and has over 1300 branch offices, including over 200 in the Greater Cleveland area.

National City is very visible in the Greater Cleveland community, sponsoring among other thing, the annual National City Home and Garden Show.

Fifth Third Bank

Fifth Third Bank, founded in 1858 and based in Cincinnati, has over 1100 branch offices in 13 states. In Northeast Ohio, they are represented by a main office tower on Superior Avenue and 85 branch offices.

Among other projects, Fifth Third lends its name and support to the home of the Toledo Mud Hens, Fifth Third Field.

Huntington Bank

This Columbus Ohio-based, full-service bank was founded in 1866. Today, Huntington Bank is the 24th largest bank in the United States, with 600 branches in six states, including over 250 locations in Northeast Ohio.

Huntington's Northeast Ohio operations are based in the historic Huntington Building at East Ninth Street and Euclid Avenue in downtown Cleveland.

FirstMerit Bank

Akron-based FirstMerit Bank has been serving Ohio consumers and businesses for over 160 years. Today, they have over 160 branch offices in Northern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.

US Bank

US Bankcorp, based in Minneapolis, became a Cleveland presence when it acquired Cincinnati-based Sky Bank in 1999. US Bankcorp is licensed in 24 states and has over 2500 branches throughout the United States. It is the 6th largest bank in the country.

US Bank's Cleveland operation is based in the US Bankcorp building (formerly the Renaissance Building) at East 13th Street and Euclid Avenue, at Playhouse Square. Their nearly 100 branches in the region include many in Giant Eagle and Heinens grocery stores.

AmTrust Bank

Amtrust Bank began in Cleveland in 1889 as Ohio Savings Bank. The bank has 63 branches in Cleveland, Akron, Columbus, and most recently in Phoenix. The bank changed its name in April of 2007 to Amtrust to better reflect its national presence.

Dollar Bank

Pittsburgh-based Dollar Bank was founded in that city in 1855 as the Dollar Savings Institution. The company moved to Cleveland with its 1984 acquisition of Northeast Ohio's Continental Savings Bank in 1984. Today, Dollar Bank has 50 branch offices in Eastern Ohio and Western PA.

Third Federal Savings and Loan

Third Federal Savings and Loan, founded in 1938 in Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood, now has over 60 branches in Northeast and Central Ohio and in Florida. The bank is still a major force in Cleveland neighborhood redevelopment and has been awarded for their efforts in this area.

Although they have a small network of branches, Third Federal has an agreement with KeyBank so that their customers can use that bank's ATM machines without a fee.

Charter One Bank

Cleveland's Charter One Bank is a part of the Providence-based Citizens Financial Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland. They are the 10th largest financial insitution in the United States and operate in 13 states. Charter One was acquired by Citizens Financial in mid-2004.
