The Bottom Line
Aunt Elaine's Silver Spartan Diner is a fun spot for a reasonably-priced meal and just steps away from University Circle attractions, such as the Cleveland Museum of Art, and Case Western Reserve University. The menu is varied, the prices are good, and the food is yummy.

- Good place for kids
Cons
- Serving staff is friendly, but needs training

Guide Review - Silver Spartan Diner, University Circle
Aunt Elaine's Silver Spartan Diner, located on Bellflower Road next to That Place, is a fun place for a University Circle meal. The decor is 50s-style chrome and vinyl with lots of booths, tables, and a luncheon counter with swivel stools. There's even a jukebox, loaded with 1950s selections.
The menu features breakfast favorites, such as omelets, French toast, and pancakes as well as half a dozen specialty burgers, chili dogs, and sandwiches, including a Philly steak, Reuben, and grouper with tartar sauce. Starters include house-made soups; breaded mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, and zucchini; and wings.
Save room for dessert; This eatery serves up wonderful ice cream creations, including ice cream sundaes, shakes, and malts. There are also chocolate brownies and homemade pies.
Service is friendly, but could use more training on the menu and general service steps. However, you hardly notice in this fun, 50s diner.
