The display includes cartoons, secular Easter bunnies, and religious images -- all made from real, hand-painted eggshells. It's fun and it's free. The 2008 display will be up from March 16-23.
History:
Ron and Betty Manolio of Lyndhurst have been creating eggshell magic since 1957. What began with 750 hand-painted eggshells has grown to a display of over 40,000 shells. The Manolio's spend the year creating a plan on graph paper and painting any extra eggshells they may need. They are aided in setting up the display by their five children and 9 grandchildren. The 2008 Display:
The 2008 display, which will be shown from March 16 - 23, is based on a "Zoo's Who" theme. It will include images of lions, tigers, bears, peacocks, and parrots, and use over 42,000 eggshells.Eggshelland in the News:
Eggshelland has been featured in the local media as well as the Food Network, the Montel Williams Show, and in 2006, the Today Show. As Ron Manolio told the Cleveland Plain Dealer in 2006, "Eggshelland is a long tradition and it's bigger than me."Contact Information:
