Where to Eat before or after a Cleveland Indians Game

If your headed to Progressive Field for opening day or any other Cleveland Indians game, you're sure get hungry either before or after the game. Below are a few of the best restaurants in and around the ballpark.

Progressive Field Terrace Club

Having a meal at the Terrace Club at Progressive Field is something that everyone should do at least once. The ballpark's fine dining restaurant is located at the end of the third base line and offers several levels of tables, angled towards the field with full glass windows. The menu features everything from chicken wings to burgers to a game day buffet with a choice of hot and cold entrees.

Admission to the Terrace Club is with special Terrace Club game tickets. The venue is also available on non-game days for special events and parties.

Flannery's Pub

Located two blocks away from Progressive Field, Flannery's is the quintessential Irish pub. The menu features Irish classics, such as Irish stew, fish and chips, and the house favorite, colcannon, a mixture of mashed potatoes, grated cabbage and carrots, garlic, and scallions. Of course, there's plenty of Guinness and Irish Whiskey to accompany the food.

Located in the heart of the East Fourth Street entertainment district about three blocks from the ballpark, Zocolo Mexican Grill combines tasty, regional Mexican cuisine with a lively atmosphere. The menu features old favorites like tacos, enchiladas and burritos as well as more innovative creations like shrimp tacos and fish prepared in the Veracruz style with tomatoes, onions, olives and peppers.

Winking Lizard Downtown

Located in the shadow of Progressive Field, about two blocks away, the "lizard" is the perfect place for a quick, reasonably-priced bite to eat before or after the game. With a half dozen TVs, killer wings and burgers, and an extensive beer list, what more could a sports fan what? Arrive early on big game days; the place is sure to be packed.

Nick's Sports Corner

Located on Prospect in the shadow of Progressive Field, Nick's Sports Center is half dive bar, half sports bar. The friendly, hole-in-the-wall watering hole is a welcome change from the several corporate and chain restaurants in the area. Drinks are cheap, the food is good (if a little predictable) and you can walk to the ball park from there. All good!

Thirsty Parrot

There's always a party at the Thirsty Parrot before and after Indians home games. The bar/restaurant has a huge deck just across Bolivar Avenue from Progressive Field. You can hear the PA announcements from the ballpark while you're having a pre-game snack or beverage. The theme is Caribbean and the menu includes a grouper sandwich, burgers, jerk chicken wings and, of course, plenty of island-themed drinks.
