Cleveland Charity Walks and Runs

Cleveland has a number of charity runs and walks scheduled throughout the year, including the Susan G. Koman "Race for the Cure" and the Dr. John T. Carey Memorial AIDS Walk. Read more about these events here.
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
The "Race for the Cure," begun in Cleveland in 1994, is a fund-raiser for the Susan G. Komen foundation that raises awareness and funds for breast cancer research. The event is a combination of a one-mile untimed walk and a 5K run through downtown Cleveland. The event is traditionally held in the fall.
Dr. John T. Carey Memorial AIDS Walk
The Dr. John T. Carey Memorial AIDS walk, founded in 1989, is held the first Saturday in October in Cleveland's University Circle neighborhood. The walk, named for one of the first Cleveland doctors to treat AIDS patients, supports a number of area charities.
