At Akron, Frye holds 54 school records, including career marks for passing yards (11,049), for total offense (11,478), and for completion percentage (63.6%). Charlie Frye, drafted in 2005, started the last five games of the 2005/2006 season, with a win-loss record of 2-3. The 6'4", 217 lb Frye started as quarterback in the 2006 season with mixed results, partly due to an ineffective front line.
