Coach Romeo Crennel was named head coach of the Cleveland Browns on February 8, 2005. He is the 11th head coach in the Browns franchise history. Previously, he served as the Browns Defensive Coordinator in 2000. Since joining the Browns, Crennel has led the team to a 6-10 record in 2005 and a 4-12 record in 2006.

In college at Western Kentucky University, Crennel was a defensive lineman from 1966 to 1969 and was team captain his senior year. He earned a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in physical education from the university.
