"A Christmas Story House," located in Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood, was the main set for the well-loved 1983 Christmas movie, "A Christmas Story." The house is newly restored and opened as a tourist attraction and museum in November of 2006.

The Movie:

The 1983 movie, "A Christmas Story" tells the tale of Ralphie and his family. The only thing Ralphie wants for Christmas is a Red Ryder BB gun, but his mother, his teacher, and even Santa are convinced he'll "shoot his eye out" with such a present. The autobiographical story from humorist Jean Shepherd stars Peter Billingsly as Ralphie, and Melinda Dillon and Darren McGavin as his parents.

History of A Christmas Story House:

A Christmas Story House was purchased by movie fan, Brian Jones in 2005. Mr. Jones won the house in an eBay auction and quickly restored the house to its "original" 1983 condition.

The House Tour and Museum:

A visit to A Christmas Story House begins at the museum across the street. The museum features original props and set pieces used in the movies as well as over 100 behind-the scenes photos from the filming of "A Christmas Story." You'll then take a guided tour of the house and the yard, peppered with anecdotes from the movie.

Hours and Admission:

A Christmas Story House is open year-round, except for Thanksgiving Day, Easter, Christmas, December 31, and January 1. Hours are Thursday - Saturday: 10am - 5pm and Sunday: Noon - 5pm. Admission is $7.50 for adults, $6.50 for seniors, $5.50 for children 7-12, and free for those 6 and under.
