Lake Erie Nature and Science Center

USS Cod

The USS Cod is a retired World War II SS-224 submarine, moored at Cleveland's North Coast Harbor, near the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. NASA Glenn Research Center

The NASA Glenn Research Center is a vital part of the NASA system. Located near the airport on Brookpark Road, the visitors' center features 6000 square feet of exhibit space, with interactive exhibits on the center's namesake, John Glenn, as well as on the Apollo Era, space flight, and the space shuttles. The Garfield Monument - Lakeview Cemetery

James A. Garfield, the 20th President of the United States, was an Ohio native. Born in what is now Moreland Hills, he attended what became Hiram College and lived in Mentor before moving to Washington and the House of Representatives and ultimately the White House. He was assassinated and died just six months after taking office. His castle-like tomb is located in Cleveland's Lakeview Cemetery.

The Lighthouses of Lake Erie

Holden Arboretum

The Holden Arboretum, located east of Cleveland in Kirtland, Ohio, is a 100+ acre showplace for indigenous Ohio plants, flowers, trees, and wildlife. James A. Garfield National Historic Site

The James A. Garfield National Historic Site, located in Mentor Ohio, includes the 7.82 acre estate of the United States' 20th president, James A. Garfield, who served from March of 1881 until his assasination in September of that year. The site includes the spacious main house, several out buildings, and a visitors' center with changing exhibits about Garfield's life, presidency, and death.

Hale Farm and Village

Hale Farm and Village, a part of the Western Reserve Historical Society, is a working museum, adjacent to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Once the home of early Western Reserve settler, Jonathan Hale, the museum features livestock, 19th century working artisans, and the original red brick farmhouse.

Great Lakes Science Center

The ten-year-old Great Lakes Science Center, at Cleveland's Northcoast Harbor, just down the road from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, invites visitors of all ages to "learn by doing" with their 400 hands-on exhibits. You'll find features on technology, the environment, the body, and the Great Lakes. There's an adjacent OMNI-MAX theater, too.

Cleveland Botanical Garden

The Cleveland Botanical Garden, located in the city's University Circle neighborhood, is a combination of indoor exhibits, housed in a magnificent glasshouse and ten acres of diverse outdoor gardens, including a special children's garden and a wheelchair accessible garden.
