Shaykhu's Mosque Lamp

Made during the Mamluk Period in Egypt and Syria, this glass lamp was made of blown glass, which was adorned with tooled applied enamel and gilded. This is one of hundreds of similar lamps that once hung from mosque ceilings for illumination.
