The Cleveland Museum of Art, currently undergoing a $258 million renovation, is sharing 142 pieces from its permanent collection with Clevelanders and with museums throughout the world. Among these works are paintings, drawings, and sculptures by Monet, Rodin, Cezanne, and van Gogh, from the period 1864 to 1964. The exhibition has traveled to Bejing, Seoul, Tokyo, and five North American venues and is returning to be shown in Cleveland from October 21, 2007 to January 13, 2008. The pieces will join the rest of the permanent European collection when it reopens in July of 2009.
