Zoar Village, located south of Canton, in Tuscarawas County, becomes a holiday wonderland the first weekend of December each year. The historic village, founded in 1817 by German families fleeing oppression in Europe, contains over 50 restored 19th century structures.
For the Christmas Festival, held the first weekend in December each year, the town hosts a variety of artisans, craftsmen, and antique vendors. There's also caroling in the streets, traditional refreshments, and house tours.
