The Akron Aeros are one of the Minor League Baseball’s best teams and a AA affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. Canal Park is their home field, centrally located in Downtown Akron.

The Team:

The Akron Aeros are one of the Minor League Baseball’s best. Recently, they held the title of the Minor League Baseball’s “Team of the Year” by Baseball America. They have also recently won the Eastern League Championship twice. The Akron Aeros also get some of the top Indians prospects on their roster.

Canal Park:

Canal Park is the centerpiece of the revamped Downtown Akron. The architecture is designed with a brick exterior that fits right into the downtown surroundings. Each of the 9,097 seats and 25 luxury suites has a great view of all the action. Canal Park also boasts the largest free-standing scoreboard in the Minor League. Over 600,000 people walk through the gates each year. About 450,000 people come for the games and the rest come for 5K walk/runs, marathons, charitable events, and college and high school games.

Orbit, the Akron Aeros Team Mascot:

Akron Aeros Team Mascot is a red space cat. You can find Orbit zooming around Canal Park as well as Summit County. He makes many public appearances and entertains kids all around. At a typical game, Orbit will be meeting and greeting people in the stadium, throwing prizes from the press box, racing around the bases with kids, and giving high-fives. Orbit also entertains the crowd and keeps children occupied between innings.

Orbit's Kids Club:

The Orbit’s Kids Club is packed with savings, prizes, and fun opportunities for children. This club, open to children ages 12 and under, costs $25 per year and offers children free admission to five games each year. Parents have the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets at $5 each for those games. At each of the games, children are randomly picked to participate in the game by throwing the ceremonial first pitch, being bat kid, or becoming the public address announcer. Other benefits include autograph and picture sessions, prizes at each game, 10% off Aeros team shop, and a birthday card from Orbit.

Dining at Canal Park:

Canal Park offers all of the traditional game day food. Visitors can enjoy their food in one of the five picnic areas throughout the ball park. Orbit Hideaway is an indoor area to eat while overlooking the whole playing field. There is also a full service restaurant, Menches Brothers, located in Canal Park, overlooking right field. The restaurant opens two hours before each game. A ticket is required for entry.

Tickets:

Individual game tickets for adults are $10 for reserved and $9 for bleachers; junior 12 & under are $8 for reserved and $7 for bleachers; Seniors 60 & over are $8 for reserved and $7 for bleachers. Standing room only tickets are $9 and children 3 and under are free if on parent’s lap. Coupon packs season tickets are also available. See the Aeros Web site for details and to buy tickets.

Group Outtings at Canal Park:

Groups of 25 or more receive tickets at $6 each. They also receive two free leader tickets to any future game, a special welcome by the public address announcer and on the scoreboard, and extra opportunities to win prizes. The Aeros Double Play Program offers groups of 25 or more the opportunity to purchase their tickets at normal prices and then receive a second game for only $2. Groups of 25 or more may also have a picnic catered. This is a great option for company picnics, birthday parties, and clubs. Pricing for group picnics range from $9 to $19.25 per adult and $6.50 to $15.00 for children 12 and under.

Birthday Parties at Canal Park:

Birthday parties at Canal Park are fun for fans of all ages. Tickets cost $15 and include a reserved seat, Aeros logo baseball, six Dugout Dollars, a free round at the Speed Pitch game, and one cup of Dippin’ Dots. Akron Aeros Mascot Orbit will also give your group a special visit during the game.

Parking:

There is no official parking lot for Canal Park. However, there are 12,000 parking spaces within a 10 minute walk of the park. Meters and parking decks are free after 6pm and on the weekends and holidays.
