The City of Fairlawn, in Summit County, prides itself in having a purposeful balance of residential and commercial spaces to deliver the highest quality of life to its residents.

While maintaining green spaces and recreational parks, the city of Fairlawn is filled to the brim with entertainment, shopping, dining, and business opportunities.

History:

In 1958, Fairlawn Village became incorporated. By 1970, Fairlawn Village's population increased enough to become incorporated into the City of Fairlawn. With diligent planning, the City of Fairlawn organized its city to be a balance of residential and commercial areas with a high quality of life for families at the forefront.

Demographics:

According to the 2000 census, Fairlawn has 7,287 residents, 88% of whom are white, 6% African-American, and 3% Asian. In addition, 65% of Bath residents are married. The median age is 43 and the median household income is $62,180.

The Copley-Fairlawn School District has a current enrollment of around 3225 students. The Ohio Department of Education has consistently rated Copley-Fairlawn Schools as Excellent. Facilities include a three elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school.

Parks:

Fairlawn, Ohio has 53 acres of parks to enjoy. There are five parks and a community center, with recreation and fitness programs offered throughout the year. Facilities include a reflecting pond, a gazebo, lighted tennis courts, handball courts, miles of hiking trails, basketball courts, playgrounds, pavilions, and many open grassy recreation areas.

Events:

Fairlawn offers many annual events, including the Akron Symphony Orchestra performances, fireworks displays, summer concerts in the park, Independence Day parade, and an annual holiday auction.
