Copley Township is located in Summit County Ohio. With a very low crime rate, an excellent school system, and a convenient location, over 13,600 call this Akron suburb home.
William Gardiner and Elizabeth Greene purchased their portion of the Western Reserve Territory in 1807 known as Greenfield. By 1819, Copley Township was established and named after Elizabeth's father, John Singleton Copley, the Boston artist. Due to the rich, swampy land, Copley is known for its many farms.
According to the 2000 census, Copley Township has 13,641 residents, 86% of whom are white, 9% African-American, and 3% Asian. In addition, the majority (63%) of Copley residents are married. The median age is 39 and the median household income is $55,195.

Copley Heritage Days is Copley's Summer Festival, held on Copley Square on the first weekend of every August. This festival brings the entire township out for a parade, auction, games, music, and entertainment for the whole family. The Copley Bandstand Summer Concert Series happens all summer long on Copley Square with music from every genre.
