Dr. Bob's Home, in Akron Ohio, is where Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) all started in 1935. The purpose of AA is to help alcoholics gain and retain sobriety by sharing experiences, problems and hopes with one another. Dr. Bob and Bill W. worked with alcoholics one at a time to help them achieve sobriety in Dr. Bob's Home. Today the house is completely restored and welcomes visitors free of charge.

First Ladies National Historic Site and Library
Located in the heart of downtown Canton, the First Ladies National Historic Site is the former home of First Lady Ida Saxton McKinley. The Education and Research Center is located just one block away and includes special exhibits, library, reading room and Victorian Theatre. Tours of both locations are guided by docents dressed in First Ladies' period costumes.

Akron Police Museum
The Akron Police Museum is an interesting place for children and adults alike, focusing on the history of the Akron Ohio Police Department with exhibits that go back to the 19th century. Admission to the museum is free and displays include 100 year-old photos, confiscated weapons, police equipment, uniforms, a 1965 Harley-Davidson police motorcycle, and so much more.

Glendale Cemetery -- A Profile of Glendale Cemetery in Akron Ohio
Glendale Cemetery is Akron Ohio’s oldest cemetery, dating back to 1839. It is entered as a historic landscape by the National Register of Historic Places. The picturesque landscape, monuments and burial sites tell the diverse history of "The Rubber City".

Quaker Square - Akron Ohio
Originally 36 storage silos belonging to the Quaker Oats Company, Akron's Quaker Square is a wonderful example of an industrial restoration. The 1932 silos, which once held over 1.5 million bushels of grain, are now the home of a luxury hotel, restaurants, and a unique shopping mall. It's an Akron landmark.
