Easter is a hopping good time in Akron, with many opportunities to meet the Easter Bunny, go on an egg hunt and feast this holiday season. Below is a selection of activities and events that your family can enjoy. Updated for 2008.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Akron Zoo

Enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, fruit cocktail, juice, and coffee. Afterwards, go on an indoor egg hunt that is divided into different age groups. Take home a Polaroid photo of you with the Easter Bunny; you are also welcome to bring your own camera. Activities begin at 930am and reservations are recommended by calling 330-375-2550. Cost: Zoo Members: Adults $13, Children ages 2 and up $15. Non-Members: Adults $18 and Children $20. March 15, 16, 22, 23 - 930am – 11am

Ride the Easter Bunny Express

Take a train ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad from Independence to Peninsula, then ride the bus to meet the Easter Bunny at the Happy Days Visitor Center. Park rangers will lead children activities that include a puppet show, crafts, and an Easter egg hunt with prizes. Cost is $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, $12 for children ages 3-12. Reservations are recommended by calling 800-468-4070 or 330-657-2000. March 16 at 9am.

Enjoy an Easter Sunday Brunch at the Fairlawn Hilton

Treat yourself to a delicious brunch buffet from 11am to 2pm at the award-winning Beau's Grille, located inside the Fairlawn Hilton. The buffet will boast chicken marsala, carved ham with pineapple glaze, pasta, salmon, roasted potatoes, fresh steamed vegetables, spinach soufflé, prime rib, scrambled eggs, cold shrimp display, smoked seafood, assorted cold salads, a dessert table, and more. Bring your camera to capture a moment with the Easter Bunny. Cost: $22.95 for adults, $11.95 for children ages 4-10. Reservations are recommended by calling 330-867-5218.

Have Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

Feast on a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, and muffins with the Easter Bunny at St. Sebastian's Zwisler Hall at 10am on Easter morning. Afterwards, there is entertainment for all including a cake walk, face panting, games, balloon animals, basket raffle and of course, the Easter Bunny. Cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children, $2 photos with Easter Bunny. Make reservations by March 29th by mailing Pat Bedell, 71 Mayfield Ave, Akron, OH 44313; checks payable to Christ Child Society.

See the Easter Egg Extravaganza

This free event begins with an Egg Hunt at 915am on March 15. The egg hunt is separated by age groups and there will also be a hunt for those with special needs. Wear your Easter bonnet for a chance to win a price for the most beautiful, most creative, and largest Easter bonnet. Enjoy interactive entertainment from the Tenny Shoe Bop Bunny Band. Get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny, bring own camera or buy a Polaroid for $2. Go home with lots of fun memories and a goody bag.
