Irish eyes will be smiling in and around Akron, Ohio this St. Patrick's Day. Learn more about the many events scheduled in and around Summit County.

1. Watch the Parade

Akron's 29th annual St. Patrick's Day “Irish Celebration” Parade steps off at 12pm on March 14th, 2009 at Cedar and Main St., ending at Bowery and Main St. The parade will host floats, ethic groups, animals, Irish dancers, clowns, honor guard, drill teams and more.

2. Hear an Irish Band at the Barley House

The Barley House is always a special place to be on St. Patrick's Day. The doors open early (at 530am) and stay open until 230am. Entertainment starts in the mid-afternoon and there is a food buffet with plenty of corned beef and cabbage, Guinness, and green beer to go around all weekend.
