House of the Lord is located right off of I-77 in West Akron. The church's approach is to create relationships while bringing the Gospel to people.

Denomination:
The House of the Lord is an independent church, not affiliated with any denomination. House of the Lord began 27 years ago with four people and has grown to a congregation of more than 4000. The church's purpose remains unchanged: Saving Souls.

Children’s Ministries:
Sunday school is provided for nursery, Pre-K & Kindergarten, Grades 1-6, youth, and chosen program for teenage girls. Pioneer Clubs is designed for girls grades 1-8, and meets the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm. Tiger Club is for boys interested in Boy Scouts. The Tutorial Ministry gives students support with homework, study skills, and test preparation.

Youth and Young Adult Ministries:
There is a Sunday school program for youth as well as young adults. The Single Adult Ministry includes ministry and activities for young single adults on Sundays and throughout the week. For newly-engaged young adults, there is a Pre-Marital Mentoring ministry.

Adult Ministries:
Adult ministries include Celebration Arts (music, dance, drama, and sign language), Creative Media Team, Event Planning Ministry, Greeters Ministry, Hospitality Ministry, Intercessory Prayer Warriors, Marketing Ministry, Multimedia, Photography, Parking Lot Ministry, and many more--something for every interest.

Men can join Mighty Men of Valor for a time of fellowship and they can join a small group for those dealing with addictions.

Women's groups include Women’s Bible Study, Women’s Retreats, Women’s Breakfast, The Clothing Closet, Women’s Health Fair, and a small group on struggles and overcoming addictions.

Support Ministries:
The House of the Lord is committed to reaching those in need with various support ministries. These include Grief Ministry, Barnabas Ministry offering one-on-one support, Benevolence Ministry offering assistance for those in a hardship, Funeral Ministry for those with recent lost, HIV/Aids Ministry by appointment, Midnight to Dawn Grief Recovery, New Creations for those struggling with substance abuse, Prison and Reentry Ministry, RAHAB for those involved in prostitution, and Support Group Ministry for those dealing with sexual issues.
