Chagrin Falls
Chagrin Falls, a picturesque village of 4000 residents, sits at the edge of Cuyahoga County, about 40 minutes from downtown Cleveland. The town, named for the scenic falls in the center of town, is known for its historic architecture, varied restaurants, interesting antique shopping and art galleries, and its vibrant arts community.

James A. Garfield National Historic Site
The James A. Garfield National Historic Site, located in Mentor Ohio, includes the 7.82 acre estate of the United States' 20th president, James A. Garfield, who served from March of 1881 until his assassination in September of that year. The site includes the spacious main house, several out buildings, and a visitors' center with changing exhibits about Garfield's life, presidency, and death.

Vintage Ohio Wine Festival
Vintage Ohio is a two-day festival that showcases Ohio wine, food, and music. The event, held at Lake Metroparks' Farmpark just east of Cleveland, features wine samples, ohio food vendors, craft exhibits and demonstrations, and food samples from area restaurants.

Madison Ohio
Madison, Ohio, located at the extreme eastern edge of Lake County, is a village of approximately 3000 residents. It is one of the areas originally settled by the early pioneers of the Connecticut Western Reserve. Today, the village boasts a charming town square, a historic theater, several bed and breakfast inns, and a relaxing, country atmosphere within an easy drive of the city.

Wildwater Kingdom Water Park
Wildwater Kingdom Water Park, located southeast of Cleveland in Aurora Ohio, is a 690 acre family-fun complex, complete with a variety of water attractions, a tidal wave pool, and thrilling water rides. The park complex, which includes the former Geauga Lake property, first opened in 1888 and is one of the country's oldest amusement facilities.

Chagrin Valley Hunter Jumper Classic and Cleveland Grand Prix
The Chagrin Valley Hunter Jumper Classic is an eight-day horse show that includes the Cleveland Grand Prix jumping event. The show, held each July at the Cleveland Metroparks Polo Field in Moreland Hills, includes an array of events and three rings of daily hunter and jumper competitions.

Taste of Cleveland
Cleveland Ohio's "Taste of Cleveland" festival is a Northeast Ohio Labor Day tradition. Begun in 1996, the downtown event features food samples from 30 area restaurants, diners, cafes, and bistros as well as Ohio wine and beer tastes. There's also live music, kid's activities, and lots of fun.

Great Lakes Medieval Faire and Marketplace
Each summer weekend, from early July to mid-August, an ordinary field in Geneva, Ohio transforms itself into the Medieval village of Avaloch. For 16 years, the Great Lakes Medieval Faire has delighted Northeast Ohio residents and visitors with jousting, period dress, traditional food, and Medieval song and dance.

Dr. John T. Carey Memorial AIDS Walk
The Dr. John T. Carey Memorial AIDS walk, founded in 1989, is held the first Saturday in October in Cleveland's University Circle neighborhood. The walk, named for one of the first Cleveland doctors to treat AIDS patients, supports a number of area charities.

Wade Oval Wednesdays
Each summer, from mid-June to the end of August, the cultural institutions of University Circle in Cleveland Ohio sponsor a series of free Wednesday concerts, ranging from jazz to big-band to classical. In addition to music, many of the area's museums offer extended hours and discounted admission and area restaurants offer samples of their cuisine.

Parade the Circle -- University Circle's Kick-off to Summer
Parade the Circle, held each June in Cleveland Ohio's University Circle neighborhood, is a free, interactive, multi-cultural celebration. The highlight of the day's events is the festive parade around Wade Oval, with the citizens marching in their fanciful, hand-made costumes. Other features include dozens of hands-on activities, a live concert stage, and roving street performers.

Cedar Point
Located just over an hour's drive from downtown Cleveland, on the shores of Lake Erie, Cedar Point Amusement Park offers more roller coasters than any other park in the world as well as live stage shows, dozens of rides, a white sand beach, and lots of fun for all ages.

Cleveland Harborfest - Tall Ships
The Cleveland Harborfest, held every three years in July in downtown Cleveland, is a five-day festival showcasing magnificent tall sailing ships. Activities include ship tours, a ship parade, a kids' discovery area, live entertainment, food, and fun. Visitors can even take a sail-away tour on one of the ships.

Marc's Great American Rib Cook-Off and Music Festival
The Great American Rib Cook-off and Music Festival, held each Memorial Day weekend in downtown Cleveland, is the unofficial start to the Northeast Ohio summer season. The event, begun in 1992, features live music (included in the admission price); BBQ'd ribs with all of the fixings; and lots of fun.

A Fan's Guide to Quicken Loans Arena
Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena, often referred to as simply the "Q", opened in 1994. Originally called Gund Arena, after the former Cleveland Cavaliers owner, the 20,562-seat facility is home to the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team as well as the site of numerous concerts and other special events. The "Q" is also home to the Lake Erie Monsters hockey team.

Hessler Street Fair
The Hessler Street Fair, held in Cleveland's Hessler Road neighborhood in late May each year, is the unofficial start to the city's summer festival season. The two-day street fair features live music, poetry readings, a variety of delicious food, street vendors, and original art. Admission is free and the fair attracts over 10,000 visitors each year.

2009 Senior PGA Championship at Canterbury Golf Club
The Senior PGA Championship returns to Northeast Ohio's Canterbury Golf Club in May of 2009. The week's activities include a pro-am event, practice sessions, and the four-day tournament. Among the golfers scheduled to play are Andy Bean, Ben Crenshaw, Raymond Floyd, Tom Kite, and defending champion, Jay Haas.

Boston Mills ArtFest
The Boston Mills ArtFest, begun in 1970, is one of the top fine art and crafts shows in the United States. Held over two weekends each summer at the Boston Mills Ski Resort in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the juried show features 160 artists for each weekend, representing a variety of media.

Chris "Beanie" Wells - OSU Running Back
Chris "Beanie" Wells, an Akron Ohio native, began his career with the Ohio State "Buckeye" football team in 2006. He earned the starting position in 2007, his sophomore year.

Cleveland Wine Festival
The Cleveland (Ohio) Wine Festival, held each summer in the shadow of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is a two-day celebration of wine, food, music, and friends.

Cleveland Play House
The Cleveland Playhouse is America's oldest regional theater company and its oldest regional theatre. They offer a regular schedule of dramas, comedies, and musicals, many of which are world premieres.

Akron Fossils and Science Center
The Akron Ohio's Fossils & Science Center is an exciting way to learn about dinosaurs and Earth’s creation. You can hold actual fossils from T-Rex and many other dinosaurs and prehistoric animals. Run among the large sculptured dinosaurs at the outdoor Truassic Park that is filled with rides and activities.

Aurora Farm Premium Outlets
Aurora Farms Premium Outlets, located southeast of Cleveland in Aurora Ohio, is a collection of 70 outlet stores, including outlets of some of the most popular retailers in the US, such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren. The park-like atmosphere is festive and the prices can rarely be beat.

Cleveland International Film Festival
Created in 1977, the Cleveland International Film Festival is held each March. The eleven-day festival screens more than 200 new independent feature and short films from local filmmakers as well as those from throughout the United States and dozens of foreign countries. The festival is held in the heart of downtown Cleveland at the five screen Tower City Cinemas.

Akron Home and Flower Show
The Akron Home and Flower Show, held each February since 1993, transformed the J.S. Knight Convention Center into a garden wonderful. With acres of showcase gardens, local celebrities, hundreds of exhibitors, and a variety of demonstrations, it makes a nice oasis from the winter cold.
