It's been a particularly violent year. There was the school shooting in Chardon (right in our own back yard) and more recently, the horrible incident in Newtown, CT. In addition, northeast Ohioans still struggle with an unemployment rate that hovers near 10 percent in some areas and food insecurity that affects more than one in five of us. If I have one wish for the coming year, it's to see none of these violent stories in 2013 and for our region to turn the corner on joblessness, hopelessness and hunger. To all About.com Cleveland readers:
May your New Year be filled with joy, happiness, tranquility and most of all, peace!
