The recent snow has made it possible for area ski resorts to open their doors. Set to open this weekend are Boston Mills and Brandywine, south of Cleveland in Peninsula. Already open are Clear Fork Ski Area in Butler and Snow Trails Ski Area near Mansfield. Opening soon is Alpine Valley Ski Resort in Chesterland. New facilities for the 2012/2013 season include a new 48,000-square-foot base lodge building at Brandywine, Xtreme Park lessons at Alpine Valley and new beginner lifts at Snow Trails.
