Enjoy Polar Bear Days at the Cleveland Zoo

Take advantage of "Polar Bear Days" at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's from January 2 to 31 -- that is, if the weather stays cold. The Zoo offers visitors a huge discount on admission prices in January on each day that the temperature is under 32 degrees (as determined by Cleveland's New 102, WDOK weather). Adults pay $4.25; kids 2-11 are $2.75. (Kids under 2 are always free.) Check the Zoo's Website or Facebook page to see if the day qualifies or call 216 661-6500 from 6am to 10am daily. In 2010, there were 24 polar bear days. Not so many last year, but who knows about 2013?

Winter is a great time to see the polar bears as well as the wolves, deer, and tigers, who are particularly active this time of year. The zoo provides heated shuttles throughout the park. If you get tired of the cold, remember: the Rain Forest is a constant 80 degrees.
