Recycle Those Bad Christmas Lights

By November 30, 2012

Follow me on:

Doesn't it seem like every year there are strands of lights that don't work when you drag out all of your holiday decorations. Frankly, I don't understand it. They work perfectly when you put them away carefully, but somehow over the summer they expire. Anyway, don't just throw those misfits in the dumpster. Give them a second life by bringing them to the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste Management District offices at 4750 East 131st St in Garfield Heights from now until January 11, expect holidays. The center is open Monday through Friday from 830am to 430pm. You can also bring in power strips and extension cords.

The recycling center will then forward your old lights and cords to be purified for industrial reuse. For more information, call the center at 216 443-3707. Recycling your holiday lights is just one way to recycle in Cleveland.
