Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Everywhere!

You can't walk -- or drive -- a block this time of year without finding pumpkins. There are ornamental ones, carved ones, pumpkin treats at local restaurants, and piles of pumpkins at the grocery stores.

In addition, Circleville, in Central Ohio just south of Columbus, hosts one of the largest pumpkin festivals in the nation. The Circleville Pumpkin Show (pictured at right) is being held October 21-24, 2009. The event features lots of pumpkin food, pumpkins of all sizes, live entertainment, and even a pumpkin festival queen.

Closer to home, Huntsburg Township, in Geauga County, is hosting their annual Pumpkin Festival October 3 and 4 at the intersection of US 322 and Ohio 528. Admission is free and each day begins with a pancake breakfast served between 9am and noon. The festival starts at 11am both days.
