Annual Case Western Reserve Book Sale - May 30 - June 2

Wednesday May 27, 2009
As a recovering book sale fanatic, whose house at times looks like a bookseller's warehouse, I try to stay away from the many excellent library sales, estate sales, and other book outlets in Cleveland. However, for the annual Case Western Reserve book sale, I have to make an exception.

The Case sale, in its 63rd year, is a four-day event held in the university's gymnasium on Adelbert Rd. in University Circle. This year, so far, they have collected tens of thousands of titles, including some first editions and other collectibles. The sale, sponsored by the Case Adult Continuing Education Department, has something for everyone, including paperbacks, records, a large children's section, and a host of other subjects.

The pre-sale (early admission for $20) is Saturday May 30 from 10am - Noon. Otherwise the sale is free and open from Noon to 6pm, noon to 5pm on Sunday and Monday, and from 10am - 1pm on Tuesday. Monday is "reduced price" day and Tuesday is "box day", where you can fill a box full of books for a set (low) price. For more information, see the Case website. Happy Hunting!
