Playhouse Square Offering Free Admission to International Performing Arts For Youth 2009

Cleveland's Playhouse Square is offering as plethora of free admission to thirteen events going on in the month of January. Playhouse Square is a part of the International Performing Arts for Youth Conference (IPAY), a nationwide support organization for the professional community of young performing artists. The IPAY is comprised of artists, producers, agents, actors, musicians, students, and educators who are devoted to the arts. Playhouse Square will be offering the following shows with free admission in January:
  • The Arrival
  • Reparatory
  • Rough House
  • Looking For My Father
  • The History of Zydeco- Creole for Kidz
  • History of the World
  • The Man Who Planted Trees
  • The Tragical Life of Cheeseboy
  • Ugly Duckling’s Dancing Cabaret
  • Dream Jam Band Concert
  • It Sounds Better in Aramaic
  • Darwin
  • Inlet Dance Theater Selections
All shows are January 21-24. Tickets are required and may be ordered online or via the Playhouse Square box office.

Playhouse Square is also inviting kids to participate in Slam U 2009, a spoken word, performance, and leadership event as well as a Rising Star Talent Competition for all ages seven and up. For more information please visit the Playhouse Square Web site.

Northern Ohio artists are also called upon to apply for the Launch Artist Residency program. Launch is an ongoing campaign to align area artists and the public by providing free rent in the Idea Center at Playhouse Square.
