Restaurant Comings and Goings for 2009

Friday January 2, 2009
New restaurant openings and reopenings in the last few days include the opening of Jack Bruell's L'Albatros Brasserie in the former That Place on Bellflower carriage house space. Early reports are good and the menu is full of French bistro comfort food, such as cassoulet, duck confit, and braised pork shank. Look for a review on About.com Cleveland in the next few weeks.

In other restaurant news, Lockkeeper's in Valley View has returned to its original owners, the Sinito family. Dante Boccuzzi, who ran the upscale eatery as Dante's for the last year or so, has left to open a new venture to be located in Tremont.

In Akron, the Carousel Dinner Theater (pictured at right) announced to its staff on New Year's Eve that it is seeking a buyer for the facility and will close its doors if one isn't found in the next few months. Let's hope that the venerable theater is not the newest victim of the troubled economy.
