"Sparx in the City" Ignites Cleveland Art Lovers

Friday September 12, 2008
Ohio's largest art walk, "Sparx in the City," takes place in Cleveland September 20 and 21. The event features open studios and galleries for more than 500 local artists, primarily in the Tremont, Little Italy, University Circle, and Superior Corridor neighborhoods. In addition to visual arts in a wide range of genres, the event features live musical and dance presentations throughout the day in each district. Galleries are open Saturday between 11am and 7pm and on Sunday from noon to 5pm.

To make it easy to get from one area to another, the event is sponsoring trolleys that travel among the sites. This year, the trolleys are free if you print this pass, and you can hop on and off all day. Passes are available at all trolley stops and children under 14 ride for free. You can park for free at the Galleria, the Plain Dealer Building in the Superior Corridor, Grace Hospital in Tremont, and at the Sculpture Center on E 123rd St. in Little Italy.

For a printable map of the galleries, see the Sparx in the City website.
