The Cleveland Indians front office announced this morning that they have traded Cy Young award-winning pitcher and former All-Star, C.C. Sabathia to the Milwaukee Brewers. Sabathia, 27, was drafted by the Indians in 1998 and made 237 starts for the club, earning a 3.83 ERA and a win-loss ratio of 106-71.

When Sabathia won the Cy Young Award last year, he was the first Indian to win since Gaylord Perry won in 1972.

The Indians received three young players and one to be announced in exchange for Sabathia. They are Matt LaPorte, the seventh pick in the 2007 draft, and pitchers Rob Bryson and Zach Johnson.

Sabathia turned down a four-year contract extension before the season began that would have awarded him $18 million a year.
