Cleveland's Fabulous Food Stores

Thursday May 29, 2008
Cleveland has a myriad of fascinating -- and tasty -- independent food stores. Chief among them is the West Side Market, Ohio's City's historic food palace that sells everything from apples to zucchini plus a good selection of meats, pasta, dairy products, and even fresh flowers.

Other fun Cleveland food stores include Gust Gallucci's, along Euclid Avenue's Midtown Corridor. This Italian food market, in business for 85 years, sells everything you could want for a spectacular Italian feast as well as prepared foods, cookbooks, wine, and housewares.

In Cleveland's Slavic Village, stop at the Seven Roses Deli, on Fleet Avenue. This picturesque storefront serves up a wide selection of fresh baked goods, Polish deli meats and cheeses, prepared foods (I love their potato pancakes), and a wide selection of Polish canned and jarred products.

Bon Appetit!
