Fashion Week Cleveland

Fashion Week Cleveland kicks off on Friday, May 2. The week's events include a "Glam" party on Friday at Little Italy's La Dolce Vita restaurant; "Unclothed: a Mixed Media Runway Event" on Saturday, May 3, at Sammy's in the Flats, sponsored by Cool Cleveland; a celebrity boutique show on the Nautica Queen on Sunday, and the main event: The Cleveland Fashion Show on Saturday, May 10. This event will feature Miss America 2008, Kristen Haglund as well as the work of 14 regionally-based fashion designers and a group of student designers (pictured at right) from Kent State's fashion program and other area colleges.

In addition, area museums and attractions are sponsoring complementary events, such as the Rock Hall's "Fashion Rocks: Five Decades of Rock Style" on Tuesday, May 6, and Cleveland Botanical Garden's "It's a Wrap: Cocoons, Silk, and Japanese Fashion" on Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4.
