Their Eyes Were Watching...Cleveland

Wednesday February 27, 2008
wolstein centerIt may have been a typically cold and snowy Cleveland night in February, but that didn't stop the who's who of the Democratic Party as well as hundreds of national journalists, bloggers, and commentators from descending on the city last night for the televised debate between candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

It was an historic night and scores of Cleveland State students, faculty, and staff were offered the opportunity to assist and coordinate the event. By all accounts, the last-minute organization and set-up went flawlessly.

How was the debate? I'll leave that to those who are more well versed in the nuances of such things. Cleveland bloggers were well-represented. The group from "Meet the Bloggers" were on hand for commentary at WKYC's studios during the event, and several area writers, including Jill from "Writes Like She Talks," Jeff from OhioDailyBlog, and the group at "Buckeye State Blog." I found the bloggers' posts a refreshing departure from the traditional political pundits. Good job to all!
