Getting Ready for the Clinton/Obama Debate

Sunday February 24, 2008
tim russertThe eyes of the world will be on Cleveland on Tuesday, February 26, as Democratic Presidential contenders, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama debate at CSU's Wolstein Center in downtown Cleveland. Just as in 2004 when the democratic Vice-Presidential candidates met in the city at Case Western Reserve University, the debate is expected to bring money and notoriety to Cleveland.

If you weren't lucky enough to win or beg tickets to the event, there are a number of viewing parties and rallies scheduled. Among these are :
  • For the Cleveland State Community: A viewing party at Fenn Tower's Game Room (#302), beginning at 8pm. The event is free and food and beverages will be served. Call 216 687-2048.
  • For the public: Antioch Baptist Church at 8869 Cedar Ave. (at 89th St.), beginning at 8pm. The event is free and snacks and beverages will be served. Call 866 389-5653 for more information.
The debate will take place from 9pm to 1030pm. It is sponsored by NBC and Brian Williams and Tim Russert (pictured at right) will moderate. Russert has strong ties to Northeast Ohio. He is a graduate of John Carroll University and CSU's Cleveland-Marshall School of Law.
