LeBron Wins the NBA All-Star MVP Award
Monday February 18, 2008
LeBron James was named the NBA All-Star MVP last night in New Orleans after he led the Eastern Conference to a 134-128 win. James scored 27 points with eight rebounds and nine assists, including the go-ahead basket with 55 seconds left in the game. This is the second MVP title for LeBron in three years. His stellar performance against some of the best players in the NBA has basketball bloggers buzzing today, wondering why LeBron stays in Cleveland, including b5 Media's James Edwards. I'm guessing that these ernstwhile writers have never visited the North Coast nor are they aware for the spirit and community that surrounds LeBron and the Cavs.
Four reasons why LeBron will stay in Cleveland (IMHO):
- He was raised in Northeast Ohio and his mother, Gloria, still lives in Akron.
- He's just finishing building a multi-million dollar estate in Bath Township.
- Northeast Ohio's a much better place to raise kids than LA or New York City.
- Cleveland's easy to make fun of if you've never been here; it's easy to love if you live here.
