"Baby Grace" Identified as Mentor Girl

Monday November 26, 2007
The Galveston County Sheriff's office has determined that the remains of the two-year-old girl found October 29 in a box in Galveston Bay are those of Riley Ann Sawyers, formerly of Mentor, Ohio. Galveston authorities and the FBI acted on information from the little girl's father and grandmother, who live in Mentor.

Riley Ann's mother, Kimberly Dawn Trenor, and her live-in boyfriend, Royce Clyde Zeigler, who moved to Texas in the summer, have been charged with injury to a child and tampering with evidence in connection with the girl's death. Ms. Trenor told authorities and family that Riley had been taken by someone identifying herself as a social services worker last July in Ohio, but the girl was never reported missing.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Riley's family during this difficult time.
