Saturday November 10, 2007
The Ohio State Buckeyes, the #1 ranked Division 1A college football team in the nation coming into this afternoon's game against Illinois, lost their hopes of a national championship title with a loss of 28 to 21 to the Illini. The difference in the game is best illustrated in the quarterbacks' performance. Illinois' Juice Williams completed 22 passes for 140 yards, coming up with the big plays when he needed too. OSU's Todd Boeckman threw for 164 yards, but was plagued with three interceptions.
OSU star running back, Chris Wells was hampered with a strained thumb in addition to the injured ankle that has bothered him all season.
Ohio State faces Michigan next week in Ann Arbor. A victory against the Wolverines will give the Buckeyes a trip to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
