Byrd Leads Indians to Game Four Win
Wednesday October 17, 2007
Who says that baseball is a young man's game? Certainly not the Cleveland Indians. Last night the patience and diverse repetoire of 37-year-old pitcher Paul Byrd (pictured at left) led the Tribe to a 7-3 win over the Boston Red Sox, giving the team a 3-1 edge in the American League Division Series (ALDS), just one win away from the World Series.Byrd's five-plus strong innings came one day after 40-year-old Kenny Lofton led the Indians offense to a Game 3 victory with his second inning, two-RBI home run.
Both teams get a rest today. The best-of-seven ALDS Series resumes tomorrow, October 18, at Jacobs Field. Game time is 8pm.
